We don't just make wine.
Connected for generations to the terroir of Tauberfranken. Discover our history and the people behind Weingut Ketterberg.
What makes our wines so special?
Great wines are not created in the cellar, but in the vineyard. That is why we focus on consistent manual labour, selective harvesting and plenty of time. Each vine is cared for individually.
Whether it's long maturation periods in traditional wooden barrels or our biodynamic approach in the vineyard – we give our wines the rest they need to fully develop their character.

The faces behind the wine
We are a family winery where every generation brings its own strengths to the table. Together, we work every day to bring out the very best in our vines.

Where our wines grow
Three unique vineyard sites with their own distinct character — the soil and climate in the Taubertal define every one of our vintages.

Ketterberg
Ketterberg
Silvaner, Weißburgunder
The site that gives us our name and the heart of the winery. The lean Muschelkalk (shell limestone) gives the wines a striking minerality, elegance, and a very special depth.

Altenberg
Altenberg
Riesling, Grauburgunder
A vineyard site that stands for structure and spice. The Gipskeuper (gypsum keuper) soil produces wines with strong character, delicate acidity, and a long-lasting finish.

Sonnenhalde
Sonnenhalde
Tauberschwarz, Spätburgunder
As the name promises, our red wines benefit from maximum sunshine here. The deep soil provides power, fullness, and an intense fruity aroma.
Future-oriented craftsmanship
We see ourselves as part of nature and bear responsibility for future generations. That is why we refrain completely from using herbicides and focus on a species-rich cover crop for our vineyards.
Our winery is powered 100% by solar energy, and we work continuously to further minimise our ecological footprint. Because only healthy soil produces outstanding wines.
